At first they were afraid, they were petrified…Seeding Grass for the budgies

A kind friend sent me some seeding grass for the fiends.

First of all they were very scared of it, they all went and hid on top of JoJo and Billybobs cage.

But late evening yesterday Basil decided that he liked it.

I put it in the fridge and tried again today. This time I clipped it up as I would have done with basil or dill. It has been quite a success.

They mostly seem to like foraging through it in the bottom of their playground. Then someone flies off and it goes everywhere.

I also forgot that I am allergic to grass pollen, but it’s been worth it to see them enjoy themselves.

Thank you Rose!

Pooh, I’d never thought of that. And they eat non-seeding herbs? I have a bunch of homegrown oregano. Would that be a good choice?

You can feed them Oregano, but just once a week.

See here, this is a great website for budgie health and nutrition: http://birds-online.de/nahrung/gruenfutter/kuechenkraeuter_en.htm
