Since Abbie (his girlfriend) passed away, Hector has become more friendly with us humans.
My husband taught him to stand on his finger, then fly to him and now Hector demands attention from us all the time.
He likes to land near us and then squawk at us until one of us puts out an arm or finger for him to fly to (usually my husband as Hector likes him more than he likes me!)
But, Hector can give the fingers and thumbs nasty bites. My husband can control this by lightly blowing on him. Hector ignores me when I do this and carries on biting.
The budgies see my husband as an authority figure and me as a soft touch!
i bring food, toys, clean up after them, my husband tells them off when they are naughty. It sort of works!
