Quick getaway!

I caught Abbie on the curtain again this morning. Which was not hard as she is there an awful lot, she’s probably there right now.

She always looks startled when I peel back the curtain and say "Where’s Abbie?…There she is!"

As soon as Abbie flies out from behind the curtain, Hector quickly joins her. Normally he’s been squawking at me for ages to go and find her for him.

It’s okay Hector, she can’t get us from behind the cage.

We weren’t up to anything, honest..

Abbie and Hector are always getting into mischief. Sometimes Abbie looks like she is smiling at me as she causes trouble.

Brave budgies..

Yesterday Both Jerry and Lilek flew down the passageway.

Then Jerry flew into the bedroom and did several laps of the room.

Both Roswell and Jerry have been landing on my computer screen and just now as I was typing this Jerry landed on my shoulder!

Jerry (the explorer) has also been making “talking noises” although we can’t make any words out yet!

What will his first word be? – probably “Naughty”

Who says if you have more than one budgie that they wont be tame or talk?

Here are Monty and Eric from back in November 2009. Monty darted out of his carry box as soon as we placed it in the cage but Eric held back for a while.

Roswell has always been a bit of a looker as you can see.  Here he is from back in January when my husband brought him and Snowy home.

Even thought we got them at the same time from the same breeder they did not get on at first, thankfully they do now – most of the time.

Jerry was rocking back and forth in his cardboard carry box when I first put it down on the sofa as I opened the cage doors.

He sprung out of the box when I placed it in the cage and went straight to the mirror and started singing and bashing away at it.

It was obvious from the start that he was a bit of a live-wire!

In the pet shop that we got Jerry from he was housed with a pair of budgies (male/female couple) and they were picking on him and obviously didn’t want him around.  I really had my heart set on a green budgie so it was quite lucky for me and him. Also very lucky for Roswell to have a new playmate!

I have never seen one of these shiny things before but I like it. My new abode will do.

Monty being naughty, what a surprise!

Currently Monty is berating Jerry, dancing and hopping around him and telling him off. We think this is because it’s started to rain and Monty holds Jerry firmly responsible for this catastrophe.

Jerry is just standing there on the roof of the Summer Palace looking pudgy and pretending the whole thing doesn’t bother him.

Uh-oh Roswell has flown over to investigate so Monty has stopped berating Jerry and gone to the corner of the roof to swear under his breath, he can’t actually talk but when he starts doing high pitched squawks to himself I always imagine he’s swearing and calling Jerry a “little green B*stard”  or some such crudity. 🙂
